What is a farm box?
A Ten Hens Farm box is a weekly box of approximately 8 to 14 items of the best, in-season produce growing on our farm that week. We do our best to plan the entire season's boxes in January and February, but sometimes weather pushes crops a week earlier or a week later so we will adjust that schedule to provide the best of that week.
What is the length of the farm box season?
Our farm box season runs for 25 weeks, every Wednesday from mid-May to early November.
What is in a typical box?
Each year is slightly different with what is planned and available. Please see the previous year's tab under Farm Box to see what available last year.
How do I get my box each week?
We are offering delivery to select areas in Bath, East Lansing, ad Williamston as well as offering pick up on the farm (7539 Clark Rd, Bath) and at BRADLY'S HG (319 E. César E. Chávez Ave, Lansing) each Wednesday during the Farm Box season.
How does payment work for a farm box?
Farm boxes can be purchased securely with a credit card. If you would like to pay by check or cash please contact Adam. We also have payments plans available by arrangement.
What if I am away on vacation?
If you are going to be away on vacation we encourage you to coordinate with a neighbor, family member, or friend to use your share. If you need to cancel a weekly delivery or pick-up, we will not offer a refund for that box.
Will I know what I am getting in my box each week?
Yes! By Tuesday evening we will post a picture and list on our website of that week's box so you can plan meals and shopping based on that week's produce.
What if I would like additional produce beyond what is in the farm box?
We are at the Bath Township Farmers Market every Thursday 3-6:30pm May through October for any additional produce needs.
What if I don’t know what to do with an item in my box?
We LOVE to cook and share what we are making. Each week we will post pictures on our Instagram and Facebook pages with what we are making from the farm box that week along with how we did it or a recipe that you can follow.
